# SMS and WhatsApp Broadcasts Send the same announcement to all your clients by SMS or WhatsApp, using a message text your clinic has had approved. A broadcast sends one message to all your clients at once, for example new opening hours or a holiday closure. ## Where to Find This Section **Communication Hub** → **Campaigns / Broadcasts**. Choose **SMS Broadcast** or **WhatsApp Broadcast**. ## The Message Text You do not type the message on the broadcast screen. You pick it from a list of approved texts. The list contains: - the texts Veterian provides, and - the texts your clinic has written under **Clinic Admin** → **Message Templates** → **Broadcast Templates**, after Veterian has approved them. A text you write shows **In Veterian review** until it is checked. If it is turned down, it shows **Rejected by Veterian** and does not appear in the list. A WhatsApp text must also be approved by WhatsApp before it appears. If no text is available yet, the screen says so and the send button stays disabled. ## Send a Bulk SMS 1. Open **SMS Broadcast**. 2. Choose a text under **Message text**. The phone preview shows the message as the client will see it. 3. Check **SMS Credits to be Deducted**. 4. Tick the box that confirms the message contains no advertising. 5. Click **Send**. Your clinic's name is added to the end of every SMS, and the character count includes it. A long message uses more than one SMS credit per client. If your balance does not cover the whole send, Veterian does not send it. Nothing goes out until you have enough credit. ## Send a Bulk WhatsApp Your clinic's WhatsApp account must be connected first. See [WhatsApp messaging](/integrations/whatsapp). 1. Open **WhatsApp Broadcast**. 2. Choose an approved template under **Message text**. 3. Check **Customers to be Notified**. 4. Tick the box that confirms the template follows WhatsApp Business policies. 5. Click **Send**. If the template contains a client's name or another variable, Veterian fills it in for each recipient from their own record. The preview shows a sample name in its place. ## Who Receives It A broadcast goes to every client who can be reached on that channel. Clients with no phone number, or who have switched the channel off on their record, are skipped. See [Notification settings](/settings/notifications). After sending, Veterian opens [Communication history](/communication), where you can follow the send. Check there before sending again. ## Related - [Client follow-ups](/communication/follow-ups) - [WhatsApp messaging](/integrations/whatsapp) - [Notification settings](/settings/notifications)
