# Printed Documents Find the print button for each document Veterian prints, from the patient card to the invoice. Veterian prints from the record rather than from a separate documents screen: you open what you want on paper, and the print action is on that page. This guide is the map of which document lives where. Every document opens in a preview first, so you can check it before it reaches a printer or a client. ## What Can Be Printed | Document | Where the action is | What it holds | |---|---|---| | **Patient Card** | The pet's record | The patient and owner summary | | **Patient Vaccination Card** | The pet's record | The vaccination history, in three variants | | **Patient Medical Records** | The pet's record | Every visit recorded for that patient | | **Print Visit Record** | The visit | One day's care: findings, treatments, plan | | Prescription | The visit's prescription | The issued prescription | | Invoice | The invoice | What the client owes or has paid | | **Surgery Consent Form** · **Euthanasia Consent Form** | The pet's record, under **Forms** | A consent form for the owner to sign | | Customer card | The client's record | The owner's history with the clinic | ## From the Pet's Record The printer menu on a patient carries most of them. What you see depends on your permissions: the vaccination cards need vaccination access, and the medical records need visit access. See [Users and roles](/settings/users-and-roles). ### The Three Vaccination Cards The difference is what the body of the card lists, and picking the right one saves explaining: | Variant | Prints | |---|---| | **Patient Vaccination Card** | Everything on record | | **Patient Vaccination Card (Administered)** | Only what has actually been given | | **Patient Vaccination Card (Administered and Upcoming)** | What has been given, and what is due next | Give an owner the **administered** card when they need proof of what the animal has had — travel, boarding, a groomer. Give them the **administered and upcoming** card when the point is to bring them back. ## From the Visit **Print Visit Record** produces the day's clinical record. The prescription prints separately from the prescription section, because it is the document the owner takes to a pharmacy and usually the only part they need. See [Write a prescription](/visits/write-a-prescription). ## From the Invoice An invoice prints from the invoice itself. This is the paper copy — issuing a legal electronic invoice is a different action. See [Create an invoice](/billing/create-an-invoice) and, in Turkey, [E-documents](/integrations/e-documents). ## Consent Forms **Surgery Consent Form** and **Euthanasia Consent Form** sit under **Forms** on the patient, and print with the patient's and owner's details already filled in, ready to sign. > **Caution** > *You can edit the consent texts and the fields shown on these forms from the clinic admin panel.* That is worth understanding rather than skipping: because your clinic writes the consent text, your clinic is responsible for what it says. Have whoever advises you on such matters read it before you use it with clients. ## Changing What Appears *You can edit the fields and texts on these documents from the clinic admin panel.* The settings are clinic-wide rather than per document, so a change to a heading or a field applies to everything printed from then on. Existing paper is unaffected — these are printed documents, not stored ones. > **Note** > A blank section on a printed document means the record behind it is empty, not that printing failed. Fill the record in and print again. ## Related - [Record a visit](/visits/record-a-visit) — the record behind the visit sheet - [Record a vaccination](/visits/record-a-vaccination) — what the vaccination cards list - [Create an invoice](/billing/create-an-invoice) — the printed invoice, and the electronic one
