What is Veterian?
Copy page
Veterian is cloud-based clinic management software built for veterinary practices. Appointments, medical records, invoicing and inventory are kept in one system, so a patient’s history and their owner’s balance are not held in two different places.
These guides focus on day-to-day tasks: where a screen is, what the fields mean, and the steps to complete a job. They assume your clinic already has an account.

For what each plan includes, and which one your clinic needs, see veterian.com.
Where to Start
Section titled “Where to Start”If your clinic is new to Veterian, work through the steps in this order. Each one builds on the previous.
- Add your users, veterinarians and staff. Define roles first, then create the accounts. Nobody can be booked for an appointment until their calendar and visit-type settings are in place.
- Add your first client and their pet. These are the records everything else attaches to.
- Create an appointment. This shows how the calendar leads into a visit.
- Create an invoice. This follows the billing flow from visit to payment.
