Clinic Settings

Copy page

Settings are where the clinic is configured: who has an account, what each person can reach, and the lists your team picks from elsewhere in the software.

Most of this lives under Clinic Admin in the left menu, which appears only for clinic administrators.

If you are setting up a new clinic, Users and roles is the first thing to do. Roles are defined before accounts, because a user cannot be created without one.

GuideWhat it answers
Users and rolesDefining roles, adding a user, marking someone as a veterinarian, and the three settings that decide whether they can be booked
DiagnosesAdding clinic-specific diagnoses for SOAP assessment, and why the default ones cannot be edited
Notification settingsThe channels, the three levels of switch that decide whether a client is messaged, and how to check what was sent
Visit and appointment typesCreating the types your clinic books, the staff assigned to each, and why someone is missing from the appointment form
  • A staff member with no visit/appointment type selected cannot be booked. They do not appear in the assignable list at all. This is the most common reason someone is missing from the appointment form.
  • Disable a user rather than deleting them when they leave. Their historical records stay intact.
  • Keep diagnosis names stable. Historical visit records are easier to read when the names they were written with still exist.
