Record a Vaccination

You plan each vaccination on the pet’s record with a date. The dose stays in the plan until it is administered, and reminders and the overdue list are built from these plans.
Where to Find This Section
Section titled “Where to Find This Section”- The pet’s record → Vaccinations, for one pet.
- Vaccine Calendar in the left menu, for the whole clinic.
Plan With the Wizard
Section titled “Plan With the Wizard”Vaccination Wizard suggests the doses a pet needs, based on its age and your clinic’s vaccine rules.
- Open the pet’s Vaccinations tab and click Vaccination Wizard.
- Tick the suggestions you want. Only items needing action hides vaccines that need nothing.
- Click the button at the bottom to create the plan.
The vaccines and rules for each species are set in clinic admin, under Pet Species.
Add a Vaccination by Hand
Section titled “Add a Vaccination by Hand”- On the pet’s record, click New Vaccination.
- Select one or more vaccines from the list for the pet’s species, and continue.
- Fill in each vaccine and save.

If the date falls on a day the clinic is closed, Veterian warns you and offers to move it to the nearest working day.
The Vaccination List
Section titled “The Vaccination List”The list can be shown By status or By vaccine. Each dose has one of these statuses:
When a dose differs from your clinic’s rule, its details show Does not follow the protocol.
Administering a Dose
Section titled “Administering a Dose”Click Administer on the dose and choose one of two options:
- Administered marks this dose as given.
- Administered & Plan Next marks it as given and plans the next dose. This option appears only when no next dose is planned yet.
A dialog opens. Choose the Administration Date, which defaults to today and cannot be in the future. The dialog shows what will happen before you click Confirm:
- When planning the next dose, it suggests a date. You can change it.
- If the dose was given earlier or later than planned, Shift following plans moves the later planned doses by the same number of days. It is ticked by default.
If you check the patient in for a visit against a planned vaccination, the dose is marked as administered on the visit date. See Record a visit.
Changing the Date of an Overdue Dose
Section titled “Changing the Date of an Overdue Dose”On an overdue dose, click Change date and pick a new date. If later doses are planned, Reschedule Upcoming Vaccinations moves them too. It is ticked by default.
The Vaccine Calendar
Section titled “The Vaccine Calendar”Vaccine Calendar shows the clinic’s doses one week at a time. You can search by pet or client, and filter by status, vaccine and tag.
From a dose’s details you can send the client Send overdue vaccination notification for an overdue dose, or Send reminder from the WhatsApp app for an upcoming one. Veterian asks you to confirm first.
Deleting a Vaccination
Section titled “Deleting a Vaccination”Delete a dose from its details. Deleting cannot be undone. If a dose was given but recorded wrongly, correct the record instead of deleting it.
